  Job Purpose  
  Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities 
  • Formulating all above the line & below the line activities, short term and long-term budgets and developing business plans for the achievement of these goals
  • Managing entire publicity and promotional operations with a view to achieve business objectives for a specific title and ensure top line and bottom line profitability
  • Generating leads and capitalising on corporate sponsorships / partnerships and update the management about performance and facilitate the decision making process
  • Conceptualising and creating marketing collaterals in line to extend brand awareness and increase visibility  for specific titles amongst target audiences
  • Promotion of specific brands through special events
  • Tracking competitors position in the market, pricing, discounts, promotions and product information through primary and secondary data collection points and preparing quarterly reports
  • Planning & implementing internal and external communications to all tiers of management and external vendors
  • Maintaining relationships with key media organizations to generate coverage for books through reviews, author interviews, event coverage etc.
  • Ensuring continuous interaction with the customer to make sure that area of concern can be worked upon for improved service levels and implementing customer retention programme through various schemes.

  • Manage publicity and promotions plans for authors and books as decided, and maintain a progress flow on all plans
  • Manage print marketing for specified books, and also coordinate with dispatch for timely and error-free delivery of the same
  • Liaise with media to ensure regular and high coverage for books and authors
  • Coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure smooth planning and execution of events and author tours
  • Regular and timely liaising with authors for promotion and publicity plans, queries, and for coordination with the media

  • Graduate / MBA in Marketing
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Publishing / Relevant sector 
  • Excellent communication Skills

  Job Purpose
To see a book through from ms stage to CRC handover, maintaining the highest quality editorial standards and ensuring it is error-free
 
  Key Account-abilities /Responsibilities 
  • Personally edit or oversee and provide in-house support for puffin titles, liaising with authors/freelance editors/ indexers/proofreaders/typesetters/designers as and when required
  • Maintain the highest quality editorial standards and deliver zero-defect, error-free, well-designed, comprehensively edited CRCs for all these titles
  • Plan and hand over all these titles as per the publishing schedule
  • Assist the CCE in the smooth running of the copy editorial department by performing duties as assigned
  • Assist the backlist programme by keeping track of titles coming up for reprint and providing correction pages as and when required
  • Participate in the backlist ideating meeting with sales and marketing and circulate minutes

 
 
  Key KPIs    Key Relationships 
  • To provide in-house support or proof read at least another 6 titles a year
  • To be responsible for delivering zero-deffect, error-free, well-designed and comprehensively edited CRCs
  • To be responsible for planning and handling over all these titles as per the schedule
  • To assist the backlist publisher
  • To assess and pass on unsolicited mss to commissioning editors or Editorial Coordinator for further action.

  • Master’s degree in the humanities/social sciences
  • Three to five years’ experience in children book publishing and/or allied fields
  • Excellent command over the English language.
